While our Costa Rica business office is based in the beautiful and sunny province of Heredia, at a convenient We Work building with wonderful co-working space, most of our global team members in Costa Rica are able to work exclusively from home.

**ABOUT THE ROLE**

UA Brands is hiring a Global Risk Management & Asset Protection Leader who is accountable for leading and driving all aspects of high-quality enterprise-wide risk management and business compliance including internal audit, inventory/production loss prevention, trademark/intellectual property protection, business insurance and PCI and other fraud mitigation strategies.

**WHAT YOU’LL DO**

The following are the major areas of responsibility for the Global Risk Management & Asset Protection Leader:
**Risk Management**:
- Develops and implements goals for enterprise-wide risk management that align with the strategic goals of the organization. Establishes and oversees implementation of infrastructure for coordinated risk management programs across the business entities globally.
- Guides, supports, and develops staff in leading risk management and performance improvement initiatives across the organization, including education, root cause analyses/investigations, policy/procedure development, auditing procedures, procurement of appropriate insurance for business risk mitigation and regulatory compliance.
- Establishes a consistent and uniform approach to data collection and reporting of risk management metrics throughout the organization.
- Stays current on asset protection and security trends, technology, and processes, particularly in the retail/manufacturing industry.
- Assure compliance with PCI Standards, Trademark/intellectual property protection processes and Fraud Risk Policies.

**Loss Prevention**:
- Investigate evidence of loss using multiple tools and resources and will conduct interviews in a timely manner regarding integrity, theft, and violation of company policy. Provide recommendations for resolution and process improvement.
- Will administrate and audit the use of Loss Prevention related tools including Covert cameras, CCTV electronic article surveillance, alarm systems, etc., to control shrink and promote safety in stores. Analyze information for further internal and external investigation.
- Develop processes and oversee regular audit programs for retail stores, distribution center, manufacturing facilities, and business offices to assess operational and safety compliance with company policies and procedures. Audit oversight to include inventory control (manage cycle counts of product inventories) and common carrier shipping audits (optimize the process for the organization and reduce costs). Advise and consult with operational leaders on improving results based on audits.

**Human Capital**:
- Collaborate with Human Resources to plan and coordinate a comprehensive program to prevent and reduce the incidence of employee work-related accidents or illness with or without lost time or injury. Interface with Human Resources Leadership who are responsible for Workers’ Compensation loss prevention and claims management.

**Finance**:
- Assists the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) for budget purposes, up to serving as a budget manager for the Risk Management Department.
- Coordinates, advises, and facilitates risk financing strategy with Senior Management on issues that could financially put the organization at risk.
- Works in partnership with CFO on provision and renewal of business insurance products to manage enterprise risk.

**Technology/Communication**:
- Lead implementations and enhancements in any system platform related to Risk focusing primarily on credit authorizations, protection of intellectual property/trademark infringement and other areas of fraud management. Partner with other business units, identifying process improvements and making the necessary recommendations.
- Provides timely, meaningful communication to all levels of the organization as it relates to risk identification and loss prevention.
- Address those risks that arise from technology, machines, equipment, devices and tools and methods of communication.
- Collaborate and communicate well with people from other countries/cultures.

**Operations**:
- Oversight and collaboration with entities and Global Business Units as it relates to the delivery of safe, timely, effective, cost-effective manufacturing and distribution facility functions.- Identifies security risks in the manufacturing and warehouse environment and applies appropriate financial and managerial controls to mitigate those risks.- The role will travel to manufacturing and distribution facilities as well as retail store locations when needed.
