**Location**:
This role can be based in any Central or South American country.

**Role Purpose**

Position is responsible in directing Customs clearance operations with excellence, quality and efficiency, providing guidance and support to all CSA country operations, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement.

**Main Accountabilities**
- Responsible to ensure all operations are aligned to internal standard procedures as well as to local and international regulations, reducing exposure to sanctions and eliminating risk to the business.
- Identifies opportunities to enhance clearance processes to increase productivity, reduce waste, and improve quality and service and develop centralized strategic plans at area level to support these activities and requirements, and oversee engagement and alignment by all area Customs operations with regional and global standards and regulations.
- Work closely with other functions such as Regulatory & Trade Compliance, Customer Service, Commercial & Finance to align process initiatives with overall business objectives.
- Establish metrics and key performance indicators (KPIs) to monitor process performance, analyzing data to identify trends and areas for improvement.
- Oversees rightsizing of clearance and brokerage resources to execute a well-balanced operation, ensuring continuous improvement in efficiencies and productivity.
- Conducts studies to determine the most efficient sequence of clearance and workflow by analyzing back office production, process flows, and schedules.
- Prepares cost estimates for proposed projects and evaluates cost factors; recommends changes pertaining to cost control, as well as work standards, work methods, personnel utilization, service, and quality.
- Performs evaluations of 3rd party services and evaluates service level agreements to maintain and gain efficiencies.
- Liaise in cross functional work with legal and regulatory, ensuring a unified approach towards policy development with government agencies and international organizations.
- Support deployment of Customs Excellence certifications in standard procedures and activities, pursuing Best in Class clearance services to enhance Customer experience.

**Requirements**:

- Requires a combination of strategic thinking, financial acumen, leadership skills, and ethical responsibility.
- Strong knowledge of existing and emerging technologies, processes, and practices.
- Typically requires BS/BA in related discipline and diverse experience in related field.
- Demonstrated experience driving process improvements and implementing projects.
- Ability to interface and drive results with management at all levels.
- Professional certification required.
- Travel required below 50%
