**Responsibilities**
- Reviews, drafts and negotiates agreements and transaction documents in compliance with applicable policies and legal and ethical standards including in:

- Responding, within established guidelines, to customers’ RFP/RFQs, vendor qualification documents and contractual requests;
- Drafting and negotiating with customers, appropriate contractual language to reflect the business interests and policies of the parties;
- Takes the Contracts Lead role on
- Complex international and multi-BU project contracts;
- Complex frame agreements (multi-BU & -WA);
- Supports Contract Services staff on
- Complex international and multi-BU project contracts;
- Complex frame agreements (multi-BU & -WA);
- Acts as Global, World Area or BU Contracts Lead for Global Strategic Accounts;
- Interfaces with customers, members of the legal team and other Emerson stakeholders to bring deals to closure;
- Analyses business, financial, and legal risks;
- Researches information on existing agreements and contractual programs, assisting with analysis and compiling data for reports;
- Provides contract-related guidance to Sales, Project Management and other stakeholders;
- Participates in the approval process to assist business owners in making informed decisions and secure appropriate approvals;
- Develops and communicates creative solutions and mitigation strategies to key negotiation points;
- Assists in the mentoring and training of Contracts Trainees and Contracts Negotiators.

- Emerson Business Units within the World Area, Strategic Accounts, Project Pursuit, Sales Directors and other sales personnel, Lifecycle Services, and Project Management

- Agents and Distributors
- Outside Counsel, etc.

**Pre-requisite Knowledge and Skills**
- 2 years of work experience in a contracts-related role
- Licensed to practice law
- Law Degree
- Comfortable to work with senior management
- Intermediate MS Office skills
- Excellent oral and written English language skills; Spanish is an advantage
- Strong negotiation skills
- Knowledge of Contract law & principles. Commercial provisions such as warranty, liquidated damages/penalties, payment & freight terms, documentary credits and bank guarantees/sureties
