Laundry & Linen Care Specialist
Position Overview
Villa Punto de Vista seeks a detail-oriented Laundry & Linen Care Specialist to oversee the villa's linen and garment care, ensuring the highest standards of cleanliness and presentation for our luxury guests. This role involves operating commercial laundry equipment, maintaining a sanitary environment, and collaborating with housekeeping to provide timely and impeccable linen services.
Key Responsibilities
Laundry Operations
Operate commercial washers, dryers, ironing presses, and steamers.
Sort, wash, dry, fold, and iron linens, towels, staff uniforms, and guest items as needed.
Follow standardized washing formulas, temperature settings, and chemical usage to ensure fabric longevity.
Quality Control
Inspect linens for stains, tears, or wear, ensuring only high-quality items are returned for guest use.
Perform corrective actions such as stain removal, minor repairs, or reporting replacement needs.
Conduct periodic inventory checks to track linen usage and anticipate restocking requirements.
Product & Chemical Management
Handle cleaning chemicals and supplies (e.g., Bluetech, EcoLab) while adhering to proper safety protocols.
Ensure correct labeling, storage, and disposal of all laundry chemicals to meet local HSE (Health, Safety, and Environment) standards.
Cleanliness & Equipment Maintenance
Maintain a tidy, organized laundry area at all times.
Clean and sanitize machines, lint traps, and work surfaces daily.
Report any mechanical or operational issues to the maintenance department for prompt resolution.
Team Collaboration
Work closely with housekeeping to meet daily linen requirements and accommodate special requests (e.g., guest laundry, event linens).
Provide input on inventory purchases and improvements in laundry processes.
Desired Qualifications
Experience: Minimum 5 years in hotel/industrial laundry operations; experience with commercial equipment is essential.
Skills:
Expertise in industrial washing, drying, and pressing procedures.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to delivering high-quality results.
Basic computer knowledge for tracking inventory and scheduling.
Language: Basic English skills; advanced Spanish preferred.
Personal Attributes: Organized, self-motivated, strong time management skills, and a team player.
