About the Job:
This company is on the lookout for ambitious individuals with expertise in a specific industry, who are keen on solving unmet challenges through venture building. As a Founder in Residence, you will collaborate closely with the team to establish a new company following a structured methodology. Your responsibilities will include addressing various aspects related to venture creation, such as devising effective solutions, forming a team, and developing a viable business plan. Upon the incorporation of the new venture with initial funding, you and your fellow founders will have majority ownership and ongoing support from the team.
Job Description:
This role focuses on revolutionizing crop development through innovative technologies aimed at accelerating breeding processes. The ideal candidate will have the opportunity to utilize the company's resources to explore new approaches in achieving the goal of significantly reducing the time required to identify successful crop varieties.
AI/ML Co-Founder Responsibilities:
- Advanced degree or equivalent experience in AI/ML field focusing on agricultural applications.
- Extensive knowledge of AI and ML methodologies with a proven track record in agricultural tech development.
- Experience in designing and executing hardware projects related to agricultural automation.
- Expertise in computer vision for agricultural applications.
- Ability to deploy AI tools for data synthesis in plant biology research.
- Entrepreneurial mindset to drive scientific ideas into viable products.
- Strong problem-solving skills and effective communication across teams.
- Preferably experienced in a science startup environment.
- Preferred fluency in English and Spanish.
- Willingness to relocate or travel to Costa Rica frequently.
