We're searching for a Software Engineer III.

SmileDirectClub is seeking a Software Engineer III to join a fast-paced and dynamic engineering team tasked with turning a large monolith into a suite of domain-driven microservices.

We are building versatile microservices that cater to every facet of the SmileDirectClub business. In joining SmileDirectClub, you will be part of a team that values high performance, open communication, and collaboration.

Responsibilities:

  • Contribute to a culture of creativity, innovation, collaboration, and excellence in all areas of engineering and technology
  • Establish and follow coding standards and best practices for microservice development
  • Collaborate with a team of architects working on multiple diverse projects
  • Build technical proof of concepts for emerging requirements
  • Convert technical proofs into working software in a clear and concise fashion
  • Analyze and optimize inefficiencies in existing systems
  • Identify and implement enterpriselevel best practices regarding distributed architecture and persistence at scale
  • Participate in regular Agile ceremonies as an invested and multifaceted participant in the SDLC
  • Advise on or contribute to test automation as needed
  • Mentor junior developers as needed and foster a deeply collaborative culture

Qualifications:

  • Degree, high school education, or any licenses required to obtain the position.
  • 2 years of equivalent work experience Clear and concise communication skills
-written and verbal
- .NET Core and/or exposure to and experience with one additional open-source stack

  • Cloud experience, preferably in Amazon Web Services or Azure
  • Experience with Test-Driven Development and Domain-Driven Design
  • Understanding of SDLC and Agile development methodologies
  • Experience with Git, Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery mechanisms
  • RDBMS experience, e.g., Postgres, MySQL, SQL Server, Oracle
  • Experience with a modern JavaScript framework, e.g., React or Vue
