Team/Department Description:
Moody's is seeking a detail-oriented Financial Analyst to join the Corporate Financial Planning & Analysis Team. The main goal of this position is to provide financial analytics and reporting within Moody's Corporate function and to assist the team throughout the FP&A processes and projects.

Role/Responsibilities:
By embracing the following responsibilities, you will support team members in executing financial planning and analysis processes, projects, and ad-hoc requests as necessary:

  • Process large amounts of financial data to create detailed reports and presentations based on result analysis.
  • Analyze actuals, forecasts, and budgets for month-end variance reporting.
  • Participate in preparing monthly reports and variance analyses that aid in identifying key focus areas for management promptly.
  • Aid in various financial planning processes and deliverables such as forecasts, budgets, and the 5-year strategic plan.
  • Input data into Moody's financial system.
  • Collaborate with teams and build strong working relationships across the organization.
  • Contribute to developing new reporting solutions and identifying crucial focus areas for management with guidance from senior team members.
  • Implement best practices for process enhancements and reporting improvements.
  • Present business results and projects to senior leadership.
  • Peer review deliverables from different departments at Moody's, including Investor Relations materials.
  • Support ad-hoc requests and cross-functional initiatives as per business needs.
  • Apply problem-solving techniques to define and solve issues.
  • Expand knowledge of financial terminology and related business practices within the Finance Department.

Qualifications:

  • Holder of an Undergraduate degree in Finance, Accounting, Statistics, Business, or a related quantitative field.
  • Proficiency in verbal and written English.
  • Minimum of 1 - 3 years of experience in accounting or finance.
  • Familiarity with basic accounting concepts.
  • Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office.
  • Ability to pay attention to detail and data quality, summarize large data sets, and communicate findings effectively.
  • Strong analytical, decision-making, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to adapt to changing environments, prioritize tasks in high-pressure settings, and a desire to learn new skills and tackle challenges.
  • Openness to feedback, willingness to grow and enhance skills, positive attitude, and capability to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • Flexibility to adjust to changes in assignments, meetings, and collaborate with colleagues across various global time zones.
