About the Role
The Travel Services Manager plays a key role in supporting the objectives of the Procurement & Sourcing Group (PSG), focusing on travel category management, sourcing, and operational excellence. This position entails taking on global leadership responsibilities for specific travel sub-categories such as Chauffeured Car Service, Hotels/Lodging, Airlines, Rail, Corporate Card, Travel Agency, Rental Car, or Travel Analytics.

Role Responsibilities:

  • Analyze travel agency, corporate card, and expense reporting data to evaluate the performance of the travel program in terms of policy compliance, market share targets, and preferred vendor usage
  • Develop and execute request for proposals, vendor selection, and negotiations with key travel suppliers consistently
  • Oversee travel vendor service level agreements to ensure performance is closely monitored and any shortcomings are addressed promptly
  • Identify cost-saving opportunities and value for the Travel team at regional and global levels based on industry insights
  • Keep abreast of travel industry trends and best practices
  • Ensure all aspects of the travel program align with the company's duty of care initiatives
  • Cultivate strong relationships with global vendors, including airlines, hotels, travel agencies, and ground transportation providers
  • Offer support to travel arrangers and travelers by addressing inquiries and feedback related to Moody's travel program such as T&E policy, travel profiles, and vendor feedback/complaints

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration or equivalent from an accredited institution
  • GTP or CPM certification is a bonus but not mandatory
  • 4-6 years of relevant experience in travel procurement, consulting, or the travel sector
  • Ability to analyze trends, forecast, and model data from various sources to provide strategic insights
  • Previous experience in travel category management
  • Familiarity with global travel agencies, OBTs, and GDSs
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, along with the ability to build relationships with internal and external stakeholders
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint
  • Capability to develop cases, implement initiatives, and track outcomes effectively
  • Experience in reviewing and negotiating travel category contract terms
  • Proven vendor relationship management skills covering development, diversity, risk, and performance
  • Excellent organizational abilities to manage multiple projects and prioritize tasks
  • Self-sufficiency in work with regular updates to management on projects and initiatives
  • Preferred experience in non-Travel categories and the Financial Services industry
