Description

We are looking for a high-energy, experienced Fraud, Abuse and Waste (FAW) prevention and detection Risk Manager to conduct fraud detection/prevention product development, create FAW detection modeling and perform risk assessment activities across Amazon's Worldwide employee and contractor base. You will build relationships with senior leaders and influence improvements throughout the company. You will perform a wide range of financial, operational, and technological risk assessments and identify/detect fraud vectors within the Amazon employee, contractor and third-party vendor population. We are seeking an individual with a strong audit background and a keen eye for identifying anomalies in data and processes. The Finance Operations Fraud Prevention team is a global, fast paced, dynamic team. We look across Amazon, evaluating risks that could harm our customers, employees and company. This role has regular interaction with multiple business units across Amazon and requires good interpersonal and communication skills. You must be an excellent writer who can succinctly communicate complicated technical and operational issues in business terms. You must be comfortable performing in a highly collaborative environment and working with your peers to accomplish joint efforts to meet the objectives of the organization. You must be able to manage end-to-end projects and borrowed resources.

Key job responsibilities

You will be responsible for leading risk assessment activities related to employees and contractors while identifying fraud vectors in the global payroll environment, leveraging multiple sources of data. You will use the risk assessment, your high judgement, and experience to identify potential fraud vectors and influence the planning and resourcing needed for the team. You will meet with senior leaders to understand risks and report issues in processes and technology that can lead to fraudulent activity. You will insist on the highest standards for your function and the operational teams, dive deep into processes and systems, apply broad technical knowledge, sound business judgment, and partner with key stakeholders. You will understand complex business processes, system workflows, and technology to identify the full range of risks relevant to payroll and to help guide business owners in defining effective and value-added risk mitigation plans.

Basic Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent

• 6+ years of experience creating process improvements with automation and analysis

• 6+ years of experience in Payroll or Accounts Payable

Preferred Qualifications

• Project Management Professional (PMP) or equivalent certification

• 6+ years of participating in continuous improvement projects, to scale and improve controllership with measurable results

• 6+ years of identifying incomplete or inaccurate data, identifying the root cause and creating/implementing an escalation plan experience

• MBA, or CPA
