We are looking for a Facilities Technician I to join our team in Costa Rica. If you enjoy working in a fast-paced environment and making an impact on our life-saving work, this may be a good fit for you  As a uniquely qualified candidate, you will:

SUMMARY: Under direct supervision, performs and documents facilities functions. Performs electrical, mechanical, electromechanical duties in all the areas.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Performs and documents repairs and maintenance of buildings and related equipment.
  • Sets up, adjusts and operates facility equipment.
  • May troubleshoot electrical, mechanical, facilities or hydraulic systems, and equipment.
  • Performs self‑inspections of own work.
  • When applicable, follows standard operating procedures for all tasks.
  • Maintains clean and orderly work area.
  • Has completed all appropriate safety and environmental hazard training.
  • Responsible for ensuring personal and company compliance with local and company regulations, policies and procedures for Health, Safety and Environmental compliance.
  • Performs escort to contractors.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

  • High school diploma and with  ≥ 1 year of related experience.
  • Technical degree is a plus.
  • Basic personal computer skills including electronic mail, word processing, spreadsheet, graphics, etc.

OTHER SKILLS and ABILITIES:

  • Ability to read and understand documentation associated with specific discipline. Ability to read, write, communicate and understand Spanish.
  • Must be able to successfully complete company/department training courses in manufacturing techniques.
  • Ability to learn regulatory (GMP) requirements.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.
