Database Systems Architect

As a highly skilled Microsoft SQL Server DBA, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the performance, availability, and security of SQL Server databases in both on-premises and Azure environments. Your responsibilities will include reviewing and revising practices and processes to enhance the efficiency of access for users, participating in capacity planning for storage, servers, and network components to ensure performance and service level agreements, and implementing regular system upgrades to enhance service continuity and user experience.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, implement, and maintain database systems to ensure optimal performance and security.
- Participate in capacity planning and resource allocation to ensure efficient use of resources.
- Implement regular system upgrades and patches to enhance service continuity and user experience.
- Monitor database performance and troubleshoot issues to ensure minimal downtime.
- Collaborate with development teams to ensure database standards and best practices are followed.
- Develop and maintain technical documentation to ensure clarity and consistency.
- Stay up-to-date with industry trends and emerging technologies to inform strategic decisions.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, information systems, or a related technical field.
- 5+ years of experience as a Microsoft SQL Server DBA.
- Experience with database design, implementation, and maintenance.
- Knowledge of cloud-based databases and migration strategies.
- Experience with database security and compliance.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize multiple tasks.
